Did you download the Casemaker Mobile App? Is it asking for a code or password? To use the Casemaker mobile application your must register online. To do so, you will need to access the Casemaker website through your Bar Association website using your computer. Once you have entered Casemaker on the left side of the screen there is an area called "My Accounts". (If you are not seeing "My Accounts" click on the link in the upper right that says Home.) Below "My Accounts" you will see a link for "Mobile Application". Clicking this will direct you to a form to fill out and submit to receive a reference code. Please note that the reference code is case sensitive. Now, open the mobile application on your device. You may be asked for a username and password or for a reference code. Your username is the email address you used to register the mobile application. Your password is the reference code you received. If you get a new device you can come back to the Mobile Application link to get your code.
Ever wonder how the courts have interpreted a statute? You can find out easily by using the "Annotator" function in Casemaker. While viewing the content of a statute simply click on "Annotator" in the dark grey bar. Here you will find a list of cases which mention the statute you are viewing. Do you need to find older versions of statutes and session law? Just click the Archive tab in the blue navigation bar on the home page. This will allow you to view Legislative Acts or Statutes and then select a state. From here you can select a year, and view the statutes as they stood at that time. You can also see older versions of a statute while viewing the current statute by clicking on the grey archive tab above the content and title of the statute.
Search any combination of state and federal libraries using the Jurisdiction menu! Directly to the right of the bar you type in is the jurisdiction menu. Clicking on this box will open the menu and allow you to select as many or as few libraries as you wish. Simply check the boxes you need. State and federal level searching can be conducted simultaneously. The Select Related Federal tells the system to return results from your selected state or states as well as any federal material relevant to that jurisdiction specifically. All States will give you results in all the state level libraries and All Federal will give you results from all the federal libraries.
